The course was in excellent condition following the club championship the previous weekend with the &#8220;first cut&#8221; rough proving a challenge, especially around the greens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There was a clear winner on the day with several vying for 2<sup>nd<\/sup> and 3<sup>rd\u00a0<\/sup> places:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1<sup>st<\/sup>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Phil Blake&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 35 points<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2<sup>nd<\/sup>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; John Hartley&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 33 points (ocb)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3<sup>rd<\/sup>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Steve Elliott&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 33 points<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Longest Drive&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Phil Appleby<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nearest the Pin&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Phil Blake<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Many thanks to John Hartley for organising the event.\u00a0The role and effort of organisers is sometimes overlooked but it underpins the outings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The next event is a great day out on the 30th June at The Dorset Golf &amp; Country Club, comprising 27 holes, breakfast, lunch and dinner, offering great value.
