The Club Championship is based on a player’s score in competitions, regardless of finishing position.
Originally the scores for each player’s best four rounds are added together and the player with the lowest total is the winner. From 2025, however, the Champion Golfer was based on a set of criteria described in the “Leaderboard” section of this website and recognises achievements such as Nearest the pin, Longest Drive and finishing positions in events.
Club Championship events are all those which are Qualifiers in handicap terms – the individual Medal and Stableford rounds on full length courses.
Players do not need to ‘enter’ either the Club Championship – their results in qualifying competitions will always be counted.
