The weather was sunny and warm for an afternoon’s golf competing for the Chairman’s Cup with 13 Society members taking up the challenge. The course was in excellent condition following the club championship the previous weekend with the “first cut” rough proving a challenge, especially around the greens.
There was a clear winner on the day with several vying for 2nd and 3rd places:
1st Phil Blake 35 points
2nd John Hartley 33 points (ocb)
3rd Steve Elliott 33 points
Longest Drive Phil Appleby
Nearest the Pin Phil Blake
Many thanks to John Hartley for organising the event. The role and effort of organisers is sometimes overlooked but it underpins the outings.
The next event is a great day out on the 30th June at The Dorset Golf & Country Club, comprising 27 holes, breakfast, lunch and dinner, offering great value. See Matt Kockott’s email for more details.
