Consistent with tradition the final event was Captain vs Vice-Captain teams, styled upon the Ryder Cup format, 4BBB Match Play in the morning and Singles Match Play in the afternoon.
Hockley is a challenging course at the best of times and this was amplified by the windy and damp conditions. Congratulations to all for completing the course.
The morning competition went to the Captains’ Team 3-1 with two matches very closely fought.
The afternoon Singles brought the two teams even closer with a single point separating them and the Captains’ Team prevailing 4-3.
With the final outcome 7-4 to the Captains’ Team. A good battle enjoyed by all and my thanks to Captains’ Team.

Good golf, food and service from Hockley GC. The day rounded off with a 2 course meal and presentation of trophies to this year’s winners.
This crowned an excellent year in which we held 12 events with 187 participants, an average of nearly 16 per event. We were only unable to play the first 2 scheduled events at Test Valley & Alresford due to Covid restrictions.
