Here is some history for your Information.
Ampfield GC was founded 60 years ago. It is therefore a similar vintage to our own golf society. Indeed we have it on good authority that the society has been playing the course since the 1960s. Long may this continue.
It was good to see 15 players turn up to play this event on a warm sunny afternoon. The course had responded well to the July rains and the recent warm spell. Lush green fairways and receptive greens.

Ron Churcher managed to score 2 birdies and received golf balls for his efforts. Beth and Steve Jenkins both improved by 6 points on the back 9 and shared the golf balls
The results of the main event.
- 1st place – Ron Churcher with 40 points
- 2nd place – Steve Taylor with 39 points
- 3rd place – Eamon Murphy with 38 40 points
Those two birdies certainly helped Ron to get over the line. Many congratulations!
Ron was our guest so was ineligible to receive the trophy. So many congratulations to Steve Taylor for winning the Par 3 Cup
