Tidworth – Pairs Salver – 10th September

Our afternoon at Tidworth started out dry ! The weather held for about nine holes but then the rain set in, Mrs S has started to use the HGS fixture list to help plan days to avoid hanging the washing out. Tidworth was in fine condition and the imaginative use of the contours makes it a great course to play with lots of opportunity to try and use the slopes to get the ball onto the green.

We had a great turnout with ten pairs entering the events and all of them breaking 30 points, the podium places were as follows ….

  1. Dean Lardner and Dave Green – 45 points and winners of the pairs salver
  2. Tom Sturley and Phil Blake – 44 points
  3. Richard Jackman and Simon Davey – 40 points

The spot prize winner was the lucky recipient of two of the dwindling stock of IBM branded Hursley Golf Society golf balls:

  • Nearest the Pin – nobody hit the green !
  • Longest Drive – Tom Sturley
